Greg Sheehan, a twenty-year veteran of the Utah Departments of Natural Resources and Wildlife Resources, was named the new director of the DWR. Sheehan is replacing Jim Karpowitz, who is retiring December 1st.
Sheehan is credited with playing important roles in enhancing more than one million acres of wildlife habitat in the state, as well as with the expansion of the state’s fish hatchery and community fishing program.
